Hi guys! So if you guys didn't know, I have came over to Singapore to pursue my Degree of Health Science (Nursing) in Ngee Ann Polytechnic under Asian Nursing Scholarship offered by the Ministry of Health Singapore. Some of you might have realised nursing is totally a different thing from what I have also dreamed myself to be.

So before and after coming here, the most frequent question I received is: "Why did you choose Nursing?" Nursing is not the first choice obviously, Law is. But law was like really expensive if you include all the course fee, the fee for the bar exam to really be a licensed lawyer. Honestly, have I ever thinking of pursuing nursing? Yes, I have, especially when you have cousins who are working and performing incredibly good job in the medical line. But science subjects have always been a real struggle for me and I am really not into either Biology or Chemistry. So that was why I'm trying to escape to get into any professions that are healthcare related.

If you asked me is this what I want, I would say a 50-50. Nursing was my second choice when I knew how heavy the cost of studying Law will be. I got a chance to talk about nursing with my cousin on her visit back to Kuching on a random day before I knew anything about this scholarship. By the short chit-chat, I started to think that nursing is actually a good choice and might be another pathway for me.

I shared the thought with my mum and we went on to a few education exhibitions. Through all the research we have done, all the nursing courses offered by overseas' universities were really costly. I actually wanted to do Form 6 and take that time to make up my mind.

There was this one day that my mum randomly saw a leaflet about the Asian Nursing Scholarship (ANS). It was really sudden and she made a call to the agency to have further information. We started sending in the documents and getting prepared for the interview.

Fortunately, everything went on really smooth and till the day I board on the plane to Singapore, honestly I was still quite blur and confused. But since I have already decided to do it, then I will do my very best to make those who have expectations on me proud.

I thank God for this oppurtunity for letting me fulfilling my wish since young which is to go overseas to study, it wasn't as easy as I thought, but I thanked Him for how He has led and always been there for me. Even though hardships are there, but by His grace and love, everything will be fine and all I have to do is let Him lead the way to transform me into the one He had created me to be. Praise the Lord! Glory to the Almighty God!
